  • Here's a question for you:  Don't you think that if you kept calling a place and they kept answering "Subway, this is blah blah blah", that it would make you think that maybe you're calling the wrong number if you aren't looking for Subway?!!?!?  This stupid, idiotic woman called about 4 times in an hour, trying to get directions to our store.....or so we thought.  The owner gave her directions the first time, then she called back saying she was lost.  I gave her more detailed instructions.  Then she calls from the intersection right by our store.  I tell her it's the first driveway on the left after the intersection.  She (and this is what clued me in on her stupidity) then said "Oh, so you're in the same building as the Subway!"  I asked her to repeat herself a few times, then said "Ma'am, this IS the Subway.  Who are YOU trying to reach?"  She then started in with "Metropolitan.......".  I'd had enough, and hung up on her.  Yeah, that was probably rude, but she'd tied up a ton of my time as it was, and we were really busy.  Stupid ass people.

This $5 footlong promotion is going to make me lose my mind, I swear to god.  I came home from work exhausted more than usual last night (we were very very very very very busy from 4:15 until almost 8:30....no breaks, no time for a drink or to eat, no time to restock anything), I woke up physically sore (which NEVER happens), and everyone's tempers at work are a bit short.  It's bringing the creepy, weirdo people right out of the woodwork.

And on a random note, you wouldn't think the paper we wrap the subs in would give you paper cuts.  But when you have a stack of those sheets about 150 sheets high, you are asking for some very very nasty papercuts.  I have 2 deep ones on each hand.  Luckily I've learned to keep a stash of bandaids in my purse for emergencies.  Especially since our store does NOT have a first aid kit.....well, it does, it just has an eye patch and a pair of old smelling salts in it.  How useful and safe!

  • I don't have a family, I have the morality police.

I really don't have a family, not anymore.  Family, in my eyes, are supposed to be people who love and respect you, and who support you in every decision that you make, whether they agree with that decision or not.  Well.....my families.....not so much.  There are so many examples, here are a few of the biggies:

-I got fired from my job back in August.  I called my mom, looking for her to cheer me up with a few kind words.  First words out of her mouth after she heard?  "Well, what the hell did you do wrong?!", then proceeded to yell at me for about a half hour.
-Family members continuously nagging at me to get a job (even if it is just part time), then when I find a job, they proceed to say "I can't believe you work at XXX".  Hello, I don't see YOU paying my bills, what does it matter?  I have a job, money is slowly trickling in.  BACK OFF.
-Continuing in on that train of thought, I have a "father" who, I didn't tell him for a while because I knew he'd fly off the handle as usual, upon hearing that I lost my job, then tells me, "Well, I'm not paying your rent".  Thanks, no one asked you to.  I didn't need a co-signer on my apartment, and you refused to co-sign my student loans (which is another issue entirely), so you really have no financial responsibility for me whatsoever.  But thanks for that.
-I have an uncle who likes to tell my family things.....like when I got 2 new tattoos.  I covered them up, especially after the hoopla over the other one.  He proceeds to make a big deal of telling everyone in the family that I got 2 new tattoos, which starts another "You look so trashy" argument.  Ugh.  My body, my money.....my problem.
-The whole Christmas ordeal.  My mom, stepdad, and brother coming to Cleveland, then LEAVING less than 24 hours later.  Then my mom getting pissed off and yelling at ME because I won't take her calls because I'm too upset.  Hi, that was NOT my choice to have you turn around and leave due to your son's medical/psychological conditions that you refuse to accept and/or deal with.  It's not MY fault you ruined Christmas for everyone in the family.  Plus you dump all this stuff on me that I am supposed to take care of for you.  Then you can't understand why I still don't trust you, and won't confide in you anymore.
-The issues with my stepmom hating me, and my dad only calling before weekends that she's going away, because he wants me to drop everything and come hang out with him.  Awesome.

There are probably about a billion more, but those are some of the major ones.  The newest issue would probably be the most annoying.

Most of you know by now that my lease will be up at the end of May.  I am looking to move out of my current apartment (whenever it is financially possible for me), and moving in somewhere with my wonderful boyfriend.  He and I have both come to this conclusion that we are ready to move in together, and it would probably be the best bet in the long run.  We would save some money by splitting the bills, etc. etc. etc.  Which would be great, especially since my loans start kicking in again in August (UGH).  This mature decision has been reached after many many many long talks about things, so it's not like we're just jumping into anything blind.  This is a huge step for me, but I'm excited more than anything.  The long distance is starting to get really annoying, it will be really nice for both of us to be in the same place for once.  Not to mention we have enough furniture and stuff between the two of us to furnish who knows how many rooms

Well, I was over at my grandparents' house a couple of weeks ago, and my grandma was asking me when my lease was up and what I was planning on doing afterwards.  I said that we were looking for something together, as we were going to be moving in together.  Well, I might as well have said that I was going to start worshipping the devil and sacrificing small children and pets, for the reaction I got.  (Okay, maybe that is just a LITTLE exaggerated).  Granted, my grandparents are super religious, and I am not, but I respect their opinions and just make my own.  She didn't look real happy at all as I heard "Well, I don't approve of that at all, it's wrong and inappropriate".  Okay, I can somewhat see where she is coming from, as she is older, and has an older way of thinking.  Back in her day, people of the opposite sex didn't live together until they were married, I get that.  Things are slightly more relaxed now.  And like I said, it's not just like he and I are going to be shacking up just for the hell of it.  I'm not rushing or pushing anything, but I just know that this is right for ME.  I'm letting things play out how they are going to.  The one time I brought up to my mom that P and I were going to be moving in together, she starts in how we should live in the same city, but have different apartments.  How is THAT cost efficient?!  That would mean two leases, two sets of utilities....when chances are, we would be in one place most of the time anyways.  She doesn't want me to become dependent on someone else.  Well, I don't see that happening.  I know how to take care of myself, I've been doing it for years now.....given past circumstances, I've had to.  The rest of my family has added their 2 cents in as well.  Oh well, I'm doing what I believe is right.  If you won't and can't accept that, that's your problem.  I thought that at least my family would accept me, but I guess I was wrong.  Their beliefs and moral opinions aren't necessarily mine, and they are making me feel like crap because of this.  I'm trying not to let it get to me, but it's been starting to wear on me.  Hence the "morality police".

I guess I'm just getting frustrated with everything.  My job search is pissing me off, I never thought that I'd still be unemployed (partially) still.  There's been other stuff going on too.  I'm so lucky that I have such awesome friends to help me through this really rough patch.  Especially 2 in particular .  I just wish they both weren't so far away.  I'm hoping that I can find another job soon, I need to do this.  Plus I'm kinda beyond bored out of my mind.  But I have been making it work, somehow someway.  I've been proud of myself that I've been able to keep going this long.  I've been paying my bills MYSELF, it's not like my parents are paying everything for me.  Although you'd think that they do, they way they guilt trip me.  Argh.

That's about it for now.  Sorry this isn't very interesting.  I just needed to get it all out.

EDIT:  While I was at work tonight, I got a phone call from my stepsister Tammy.  We were swamped at work, so I let it go to voice mail.  What did she call for?  To let me know about my other stepsister Amy's baby shower.....which is TOMORROW!!!!!  Apparently she "forgot" to call me, then suddenly remembered today.  I like Tammy and all, but Amy doesn't really appear to care for me.....except if I'm getting her something.  I'm sorry, but I'm not going.  I don't need the torture of dealing with my stepmom for the afternoon, then going to work.  I just can't do it, I'm too far to the end of my breaking point.  Plus, I really have no extra money to spend right now.   I'm really sick of all of this crap with Cathi, more than ever I just want to move away and start a new life.
